BRH is expanding its affordable homeownership program by newly constructing four (4) affordable units on a .27 acre lot (11,761 sq. ft.) at the former site of 314 E. Haverhill Street (now 17-19 and 21-23 Josephine Street) in Lawrence, MA. A vacant, boarded and dilapidated single-family home was previously sited on the property but was demolished by BRH to immediately remove the source of blight in its corresponding neighborhood and to prepare the site for new construction. The two (2) duplex style buildings will contain 2 units each with 1,449 sq. ft. of living space, 3 bedrooms, 1.5 baths, an eat-in kitchen, living room and full basement. These two and one half story homes will also include a front porch, back or side deck, off street parking for two cars and a small fenced-in yard. The affordable units will be sold to families traditionally excluded from the housing market – households earning less than 60% of the area median income.
