Homeownership, the core of the American dream, is quickly moving beyond the grasp of more and more working families. Dramatically rising rental costs and current selling prices of homes mean that average households in our community have no access to long-term secure housing.

Bread & Roses Housing was founded in 1988 to address such housing issues. Our goal is to create alternative homeownership opportunities for families traditionally excluded from the housing market

We do so by acquiring vacant lots or distressed properties, building homes and making the homes available to families through a community land trust.
